Q&A with Commissioner Candidate Janet Diiorio

Janet Diiorio is running for Commissioner for Ridley Township, Ward 8. She recently shared with us her thoughts on running for office, including the issues that motivated her to run and what her priorities will be if elected.

Is there a particular issue that motivates you to serve as commissioner?
The current climate in Ridley Township being investigated by the FBI is a major issue for me. I feel that a set of eyes and voices from both sides of the aisle is the best solution to represent all the concerns of all residents in Ward 8.

What specific experiences or skills have prepared you to serve in this position?

I worked in sales and management my entire career. I’m a good listener, communicator, and problem solver.

If elected, what will your priorities be?

Be available to listen and be the voice for all the residents in Ward 8. Communicate what is happening and what it will take to get positive things done.

What inspired you to run?

I am recently retired and have the time and energy to make my neighborhood better.

What do you hope to change if elected?

Open door policy with open meetings between the township commissioners and tax payers. Being someone residents can come to and express their concerns on issues and ideas to improve our neighborhood.
