There are a few ways to help!
- Greeting voters at the polls - you can be that friendly Democratic face! (Short shifts available)
- Becoming an election official inside the polling place (and getting paid to preserve Democracy).
If you enjoy talking to people and are outgoing, this might be a good activity for you! Canvassing involves going door to door to talk to your neighbors about the election. You do not have to be a political expert or the captain of the debate team - we'll provide you with a script and talking points. We will also provide a specific address list - we will not be sending you into the lion's den. Think that's not for you? Read on.
If you are a social being but walking is not your thing, then calling and texting might be for you! This could be done, working through a list, from the comfort of your own couch or could be done in a phone bank atmosphere for a campaign. We will have a script to use to get things started. The Ridley Township Commissioners record their meetings. The Ridley School Board has live audio streaming, but no recorded audiovisual archive of meetings. Nothing beats being at a meeting in person, especially if the available technology fails or is insufficient. Regardless of the party affiliation of elected officials, we have an obligation to keep all accountable and ensure decisions and programs benefit the entire township.
Volunteers are asked to attend regularly scheduled township meetings to take notes and report back to our committee during committee meetings.

Every election the Ridley Dems push to get the vote out, and that requires getting the word out! We provide pre-election mailers, yard signs, get out the vote events, and, of course, this website. Like everything else in the world, these things cost money.
If you have ideas for a fundraiser, are willing to organize an event, or willing to help out fill out the volunteer form on this page.
Ridley Township has 20 voting precincts. Each precinct may have 2 elected committee people. Additional committee people may be appointed. In the case where no committee people are elected for a precinct, someone may be appointed.
Is that someone you? Fill out the form on this page if you’re interested in becoming a committee person.
If nothing in this list seems like a good match, don't worry! There are still plenty of ways to volunteer.
The person who is writing this paragraph? Well, I contacted the committee and said "I have 30 years in IT - I would like to work on web development, automation, trending." And, here I am, updating the website.
If you can think of it, if you can do it, let's talk about what "it" is and come together for the betterment of our community, county, state and nation.
Fill out the form on this page, and let's get to work!
